I studied film on the Fine Art course at St Martin’s and learned about the power of telling stories with pictures. Just around the corner Soho was the epicentre of film and documentary making at that time: the buzz of editing rooms, camera rental companies and film labs was intoxicating and I knew I wanted to be part of that world.

As a camera assistant and focus puller I gained experience on music videos, documentaries and feature films throughout the world, learning the importance of collaboration working alongside leading figures in film and television.

I got my break as a documentary cameraman on the BBC series Great Railway Journeys and have been shooting observational films, documentaries and scripted drama for British and US television ever since.

I like the unpredictable nature of filming and the ability to improvise and to work quickly is key. By listening and responding to what is unfolding in front of the camera I aim to produce informed and dynamic imagery that holds an audience’s attention and enhances the story being told.
